Martin Ralph
President

 

 

 

 

 

Mr Martin Ralph is the Managing Director of IFAP. As part of his role Martin manages the implementation of IFAP’s occupational safety and health consulting services.

Prior to joining IFAP, Mr. Ralph was appointed as a Special Inspector of Mines with the WA Government Department of Minerals & Energy where he specialised in matters related to radiation, ventilation and occupational hygiene. Mr Ralph has also spent several years with one of Australia's premiere mining houses, Western Mining Corporation (WMC), initially as a Radiation and Safety Technician, and then later as Radiation and Safety Officer on WMC's Olympic Dam and Yeelirrie Projects.

Martin has developed and delivered a wide range of training programmes, including a United Nations sponsored programme for radiation protection and occupational health and safety specialists in the South East Asian tin and among mining industry.

 

Phil Lovelock
President Elect

 

 

 

 

 

Phil is a health and safety professional with considerable experience across a broad range of industries including pharmaceutical manufacturing, power generation and distribution, airports, transport, health and community organisations, emergency services and office based organisations. He is currently employed as a Senior OHS Consultant with the Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry [VECCI].

Phil is a Past President of the Safety Institute of Australia (SIA) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute (CFSIA), a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Phil is the endorsed SIA representative for INSHPO.

 

Neville Rockhouse

Neville Rockhouse has a diverse background in industry but primarily he has spent over 20 years in the coal mining industry in both Australia and New Zealand. Professionally qualified in occupational health & safety he holds several industry specific qualifications with his professional qualifications including a Post Graduate Diploma & Masters Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, from the University of Newcastle (Australia).

Native to New Zealand, he returned there some 14 years ago and established a successful Health, Safety and Training Consultancy business that he then owned for ten years before returning to the industry that he started out in. Currently he is a Professional Member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM) and acts as their selected National Operations and CPD Manager. Additionally, Neville was also elected as INSHPO’s new Vice President in December of 2008.

Neville currently works as the Safety & Training Manager for Pike River Coal Ltd. This is a newly established hard coking coal mine that is New Zealand’s largest privately owned coal mine. It has 170 employees and will produce 1.3m tonnes of coal for the export market per year when it reaches full production. He has held that role for the last three years.


Jim Allan

Jim Allan has had a varied career after graduating from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc.

He spent four years in the Canadian Armed forces, prior to joining Bell Canada, the major Canadian Telephone company. The first half of his 34-year career in Bell was in operations (construction and maintenance) and the latter half in health and safety in both a regional and corporate basis. He has been actively involved in the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering for almost 20 years, serving in all executive committee positions within that organization.

He now is President of his own H&S consulting company and has been appointed to INSHPO as CSSE's representative.
